I managed this global project for DJR via Type Network: expanding his Forma DJR typeface to include 5 new writing systems: Arabic, Devanagari, Greek, Hebrew, and Thai. The multiscript project was commissioned by Wieden + Kennedy for HP+. Several designers worked hard to create an incredible expansion to this formidable typeface: 5 weights in 5 optical sizes. There were a lot of challenges and moving pieces, and they all came together in the end. A million thanks to Khajag Apelian, Tanya George, Wael Morcos, Victoria Rushton, Aleksandra Samuļenkova, Liron Lavi Turkenich, and Knaz Uiyamathiti of Cadson Demak for their expertise!

In addition to this expansion, I helped manage the matching of Forma with Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, a Hong Kong regional variant, Japanese, and Korean retail typefaces, with the heavy lifting done by Petr van Blokland and Just van Rossum, and the amazing folks at Arphic, Hanyi, Morisawa, and Sandoll. It was a LOT, and it was done in less than a year, during the worst surge of the pandemic. And oh yeah, I had a baby.
