My name is Dyana Weissman, and for over 20 years, I have worked with clients including Comedy Central, Disney, Ford, Microsoft, MoMA, and NBC. As Director of Custom Type at Type Network, I managed and designed large multiscript families in static and variable font formats. Before that, I was Senior Custom Designer at The Font Bureau. I have been a judge for the Type Directors Club, Communication Arts, and the Updike Prize for Student Type Design.
My practice is inspired by nature, both human and wild. I believe the most memorable designs are endearingly imperfect, and creates genuine connections with clients. I stretch my creative muscles writing for Typographica and Alphabettes, and stretch my literal muscles hiking as often as I can.
An asterism is three asterisks used to draw attention to a passage, much like a cairn marks a path in the woods. Whatever your typographic challenge, I will help you find your way.

Whether you’re a Business Affairs Manager or a Typeface Designer, large typeface design projects can be very confusing, and complex to manage. I can help you with every part of a project, and I’ll do it with kindness and compassion. Not just from the proposal to the delivery, but from understanding the technical details to handling the emotional challenges that can arise with both clients and contractors. I have over 10 years of experience managing projects large and small, for Latin and multiscript families.

My profession for over 20 years. I’ve drawn many superfamilies for several clients. I’m also happy to draw a single style of a font, fill out a character set, or make some adjustments to an existing design (with proper permission).
